"Omnia PTFE sutures are critical to my surgical regenerative success due to their unique needle qualities and abilities to expand, prevent bacterial accumulation and maintain closure strength over several weeks.

I encourage all my students to consider Omnia PTFE sutures as a critical aspect of their surgical armamentarium."

Diego
Velasquez DDS, MSD, Fenton, MI

"Wound margin approximation after harvesting connective tissue from the palate is a key step during mucogingival surgery. Not only does it help achieve hemostasis thus decreasing bleeding complications, but also facilitates primary closure potentially enhancing healing and patient comfort. Continuous lock sutures provide a simple way to procure wound closure limiting suture allocation to the wound area, avoiding the engagement of the buccal aspects of teeth adjacent to the donor site.

Compartmentalizing suture placement in such way reduces undesired material presence on areas sensitive to mobility, intimate tissue contact and plaque accumulation that could be hampered by having extra suture material in close proximity to the recipient site. Omnia's PTFE 6/0 suture combined with an 11mm sharp 1/2 circle sharp needle facilitates the delivery of this suture technique. The quality and configuration of the needle makes the piercing of the wound margins atraumatic and smooth. Suture diameter and PTFE material mitigate the annoying sensation associated with perceiving foreign materials in the oral cavity."

"Root coverage procedures require meticulous soft tissue handling and manipulation. Tissue approximation and stability are of paramount importance for the success of this type of surgeries. Omnia's suture materials provide excellent handling for the surgeon, tissue bio-compatibility and comfort for the host. The donor site has been sutured with a 6-0 ptfe suture utilizing a 1/2-11mm needle that facilitates tissue engagement in such restricted working space. A continuous interlocking suture compartmentalizes material allocation avoiding invasion of the recipient site. The recipient site has been sutured utilizing a 5-0 ptfe suture attached to a 3/8 reverse extra cutting 12mm needle, that poses no challenges when accurately piercing tissue and reaching through interproximal embrassures. Simply stated, this is a winning combination of suturing materials for mucogingival surgery".

Daniele
Cardaropoli DDS, Turin, Italy

"We have been using Omnia procedure trays for periodontal and implant surgery for several years. The possibility of exchanging views with the Company and their great availability has allowed us to have customised sets prepared for us, specifically designed for us according to our requests and needs. Preparing the surgical site has therefore become a fast, precise and effective procedure, carried out to perfection by the auxiliary personnel of our Clinic. Controlling sterilisation certainly represents the first step in order to perform surgical operations successfully".

PTFE can be considered as the gold standard for the choice of the suturing material. The perfect tightness of the knot, the sliding, the biocompatibility, the little plaque retention represent basic characteristics during the choice of the suture, and the PTFE has all of them. Their ability to keep the flaps well closed and the incapability to keep the plaque are a plus in the post surgery period, so to limit any possible complication that may occur as the opening of the flaps with separation of the soft tissues or infection on the suture line. For these reasons, our personal preference is for the Omnia PTFE in all the operations of periodontal plastic and regenerative surgery, ridge preservation and bone regenerative surgery. ”

Nicola
De Angelis DDS DMSc, Genova, Italy

“Suturing is always the final step of the surgery and based on our experience it is one of the most challenging aspects of the whole procedure. Inevitably it means that the stability of the knot and the texture of wire are the most important features for a good stitch.

The ideal wire must not interfere with wound healing and PTFE Sutures have the best reputation in this regard. I believe that to achieve best results we must choose the best product. Based on our know-how and experience in the field I believe we have found the answer in PTFE Sutures. I recommend you to try them!”

Mauro
Labanca MD DDS Milan, Italy

"Thinking that working in an often contaminated environment such as a dental clinic may foil all attempts to obtain a good sterilisation is a popular idea but one that is completely wrong and misleading. My assistants (who know the dimensions of the tables, trays etc. better than I do) have created, together with Omnia and under my supervision, my customised kit which I have used for many years now and I don’t think I could really do without it any more.

I truly thank Omnia for this praiseworthy contribution and for the expertise they provide to operators in order to deal with such an important matter".
